Located on the Chattahoochee River along the border of
Alabama and Georgia, Lake Eufaula enjoys a national
reputation for excellent largemouth bass fishing.
Indeed, the 45,181-acre reservoir is known as the “Big
Bass Capital of the World,” and anglers come here from
around
the world to catch largemouth bass. With 640 miles of shoreline, Lake Eufaula has numerous public-use areas and boat ramps, as well as two public service marinas. Other recreational activities at the lake include boating, skiing, sailing and camping. The 11,184-acre Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge, located on the edge of Lake Eufaula, provides excellent opportunities for hunting, hiking, wildlife viewing and photography. Golfers can choose from three 18-hole courses in the area. Southeast Alabama is well known for its world-class hunting, featuring an abundance of whitetail deer, turkey and quail. For those who love the ocean, the white, sandy beaches of northwest Florida are just a few hours away. |
