The SAMC Foundation would like to thank everyone that came out to our inaugural Buddy Buie’s ‘Faula Fest on May 13th and 14th in Eufaula. With our ROCKIN’ spons...ors, volunteers, golfers and amazing bands and performers, we raised over $73,000 for the Medical Center Barbour Fund!
The two-day event included a golf invitational on Friday, May 13 at the County Club of Alabama in Eufaula. The concert played throughout the day in Eufaula’s beautiful downtown entertainment district. Concert performances included several area musicians including the DNR Band, a band consisting of physicians from the Columbus, Georgia and Eufaula, Alabama area. Before the concert concluded with a headlining performance from the 1970’s southern rock band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, in honor of Buddy Buie; the city of Eufaula declared May 14th “Buddy Buie Day”. Buddy Buie was a longtime Medical Center Barbour advocate. Buie was also an integral part of the Atlanta Rhythm Section’s success. He served as their manager and producer and was known for writing many of the songs that became so popular, like “Spooky”, “Traces” and “Stormy”.
